Eighty-Dollar Champion, The

Elizabeth Letts – Snowman had been just a humble plowhorse, bound for the slaughterhouse when Harry de Leyer came along. He paid eighty dollars for him. After a time he sold the horse for the needed money. He didn’t realize that a mere fence could not hold Snowman back from reuniting with the family he loved. Snowman repeatedly jumped over many fences to get back to his family.  Eventually Harry bought him back and worked hard at training him to become a champion at show jumping.
