Donna J. Stotzfus – This is the story of how Edna Ruth Byler helped women who struggled to find jobs and feed their families. The women were talented at embroidery and want to sell their work. Edna and her husband Joe served as missionaries at Puerto Rico for awhile. When they went home to USA Edna brought some of the lovely articles along to sell. Later she bought goods from other countries also. Edna’s basement was used to store these until being sold. Eventually this became Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade company which sells handmade crafts around the world.
