The Cat from Kosovo

Mary-Jane Hampton – Mishka the cat appeared on the steps of the apartment building where Bashkim and his wife Olsa lived. Olsa felt sorry for the hungry-looking cat. Eventually Mishka moves in with Bashkim and Olsa. Then the war in Kosovo starts. The police come banging on the door demanding they leave at once. Frantically they get ready, and then, what about Mishka? Olsa is determined to take the car with her; she puts him in a canvas bag and zips it up so only his head can peek out. Will Mishka be saved?
